The St. Regis San Francisco looks forward to welcoming its guests to a chocolate making and tasting experience at Dandelion Chocolate, a bean-to-bar chocolate factory in the Mission District. Dandelion sources cocoa beans directly, works to build strong relationships with cacao producers, and crafts small batches of chocolate using only two ingredients: cocoa beans and cane sugar. Inside the factory, chocolate makers roast, sort, crack, winnow, grind, and temper small batches of chocolate, then mold and package the bars by hand. At the factory, guests will have the opportunity to make their own batch of chocolate in a private class. The experience starts with tasting a variety of roasted nibs, and moves through techniques for developing flavor. Guests will be able to see the process of turning unroasted beans into roasted, cracked and winnowed nibs firsthand, and eventually formulate their own single origin or blended dark chocolate. Guests will leave with finished but untempered chocolate, which is great for nibbling on or for baking. Halfway through the class, they will also get to enjoy some housemade treats from the Dandelion café.
From $1,230 per night plus taxes and assessments totaling 16.6% includes 2-nights accommodations for 2 guests, daily breakfast, and the chocolate making class and tasting at Dandelion factory.
Transfers are not included. Must be booked at least 14 days prior, but last minute bookings can be accommodated, subject to availability. Cancellations less than 7 days prior will incur 100% cancellation fee. Available times for experience: Monday to Thursday – 6pm to 10pm and Sunday – all day
